Spa & Pool Heat Pumps

About Spa & Pool Heat Pumps

Pool & Spa Heat Pumps have a great advantage over standard electric elements in spa. They can be retrofitted to work with almost any spa or pool. Most standard spas come with a 1.5-6kW heating element. Over 90% of those spas only have a 2-3kW element, and can be expensive to run. Heat pumps come in a range of 9-35kW.

Why Heat Pumps Are Better Than Electric Elements

Heat pumps work by absorbing ambient heat from the air. Doing this allows a heat pump to operate more efficiently than other forms of heating. They have become very popular.

What Brands Are Good?

We have found the Sensa-Heat & Madimack brand heat pumps to be the best on the market. They have a good entry-level economical range, and a higher-end quieter range. They all come with WiFi built-in. Distributed and supported by the large spa parts suppliers in Australia / New Zealand.

How Much is a Heat Pump?

  • 9kW Heat Pumps start at roughly $2500.00 to $5400 for a 24kW SensaHeat ES Series
  • Premium series starts at $3299.00 for a 9kW, up to $8400 for a 28kw Premium

Installation

Smaller units may be able to be plugged into a standard power point (with RCD). Larger units may need a new circuit, but as we are Licensed A-Grade Electricians we can do that directly.
