Electric Elements are by far the most common way of heating a spa. They are typically included in most Portable Spas & Swimspas. They are the cheapest to buy, slowest, and most expensive method of heating a spa.
Brands like: Balboa, Davey, SpaQuip, Gecko, Aeware, Hydroquip, Pentair.
Typical outputs are 1.5kWh to 6kWh
Heat Pumps are becoming a very popular method of heating spas and swimspas. They are 3-7 times more efficient that an Electric Element. They have higher up-front costs, but often pay for themselves in 1-3 years, depending on outlay.
Common Brands are: Sensa-Heat, Madimack, EvoHeat, SpaNet, Astralpool.
Typical outputs are 5kWh to 55kWh
Gas heating is a tried & proven FAST way of heating a spa. If you are an occasional user, this may be the best way to heat your spa. They are the Kings of Speed. Check out their outputs compared to other methods.

Typical outputs are 15kWh to 110kWh
